Do you like pink?
Chloe Rowe, the Parsons designer turning childhood nostalgia into fashion, does.
In the heart of the fashion world, Chloe Rowe is proving that playfulness and professionalism can coexist fabulously. As a Parsons School of Design student showcasing at New York Fashion Week, Chloe represents a new generation of young creatives who value authenticity, sustainability, and storytelling. Her brand, Chloe Likes Pink, has been growing since she was fifteen, and her latest collection, PAPER DOLLS, captures the creative freedom that first drew her to fashion.
“PAPER DOLLS is a collection inspired by childhood; specifically that freedom of self-expression I think we all once had when we were little, before judgment and societal standards came into play,” Chloe says.
Each look in PAPER DOLLS channels the “simple joy of creativity without restraint,” transforming the nostalgia of cutting paper dolls into wearable art.
As a student designer stepping into the spotlight, Chloe stays grounded by remembering where her passion started.
“I started sewing because I thought it was fun,” she says. “Even though now I am at school for it and it’s definitely more of a competitive space, I make sure to remember why I started designing in the first place.”
Much like the concept of cutting out and customizing a paper doll’s clothes, her work centers around upcycled fashion - giving new life to discarded materials.
“Since I’m largely relying on what I am able to find while thrifting, I tend to wait to finalize my designs until after I’ve collected said materials,” she explains. “This allows me to experiment more and really get creative with draping my designs.”
Living in New York has also shaped her confidence and approach.
“You can truly wear whatever you want,” Chloe says. “That has given me so much freedom and confidence in my own personal style, which reflects heavily on my own designs.”
Chloe has built a small but passionate community around Chloe Likes Pink, her brand that celebrates individuality and expression.
“It means so much to me,” she says. “I want to be able to continue sharing the message of expressing yourself freely through fashion (and making cute clothes, of course)!”
In a city overflowing with creativity, Chloe Rowe stands out for her sincerity and sense of joy. Her story embodies what In The Closet Blog celebrates most - people who create from the heart and remind us why fashion is, above all, fun.
